Grace is a friendly, mellow young pup, she loves to snuggle by her humans. She may be a little shy and reserved when introduced to stranger, but warms up quickly with treats. She's a love bug around the people she knew, very affectionate and is aimed to please. With only three legs, she can walk and run like any normal dog. She's very food motivated, so is easy to train; however, need to keep her from eating trash on the roadside when taking walks. Her favorite pastime is playing with her dog pals at foster home and tearing newspapers or cartons; she’d stay calm around cats too. About Grace’ rescue: Grace grew up near the suburban farm-land. She scavenged her food from rotten potatoes or food scraps from nearby families. She got pregnant multiple times; by the time the rescue met her, she was followed by two puppies. Being a female and a mixed breed, her chance of being adopted locally was slim. So the rescuer chose to support this stray family by feeding them regularly. Until one day, a desperate howl reached the rescuer, it was from Grace! Her left hind leg was caught by an animal trap and was seriously damaged. Taken to the hospital, Grace’s paw had to be amputated. Knowing the difficulty 3-legged Grace and her youngsters would face living in the field on their own, the rescue settled the family in a private owned no-kill shelter. A couple months later on her follow up visit, the rescuer was shocked to find out their poor living condition. Grace and her young pups were caged all day long; they were skin and bones, and all with skin infection. The rescuer had no choice but to move them into foster homes and start preparing them for overseas adoption. Grace has a very stable personality. Her previous harsh life made her easy to adapt to different environment. She’s ready to join a loving forever home that she can call her own!
